The U.S. hardship map

The share of households in every U.S. state and county whose income is below a survival budget — the bare-minimum local cost of housing, child care, food, transportation, health care, a basic phone-and-internet plan, and taxes — every year from 2010 to 2024. This is my own independent reconstruction of the United For ALICE methodology (the “Reconstructed ALICE Series”) — these are not United For ALICE’s official figures.
